Brian Falter - President
As President of RICOR Racing
Shocks, Brian Falter used 25 years of off-road sporting experience and
16 years of knowledge in precision manufacturing to lead the
development of RICOR's shock systems.
Brian has been
immersed in the off-road industry since his early teen years, enjoying
a range of dirt sports from dirt bike riding to sand rails to off-road
trucks.
Prior to RICOR Racing Shocks, Brian managed a
manufacturing company, specializing in prototype design through
production work, where he built the company from a start up to a
multi-million dollar business, developing parts for such customers as
Raytheon, Boeing, McDonald-Douglas, and BF Goodrich.
Don Richardson - Chief "crackpot" Engineer
Don
Richardson developed the core inertia valve technology used in RICOR
shock systems and continues to innovate RICOR's advanced shock
technology today. This isn't the first time Don Richardson has
revolutionized the suspension industry.
Don began his
career in shock design in 1974 in the motocross industry. Unsatisfied
with the state of the twin shock rear suspensions, he researched
alternative solutions and developed a rising rate single shock linkage
system that was first introduced by Suzuki as the "full floater" system
in 1981. His basic design has since been copied by almost every major
motorcycle manufacture in the world.
Don went on to
develop shocks for Formula 1 teams and the Nissan GTP team. In 1991 he
won the San Felipe Shock Shootout and as a result, Citroen petitioned
Don to solve suspension challenges with their Dakar Paris Rally team
vehicles. Using the RIV technology, RICOR improved Citroen went on to
win the famous Paris to Dakar rally in 1994, 1995 and 1996. Don then
licensed Donerre, a shock manufacturing company, and built shock
systems for the Citroen Race Team, Mitsubishi, Volkswagen and many
others in Europe. Since then, Edelbrock licensed the inertia valve
technology for after-market applications and continues to utilize Don's
inertia valve technology today.
Don has spent the last 33
years researching and developing shock technology, designing some of
the most advanced shock systems in the world, and thoroughly enjoying
himself on his quest for the Holy Grail of suspension dynamics.
Scott Falter - Vice President, Technology
Scott
Falter is responsible for RICOR shock design and engineering while
overseeing the assembly, testing, tuning, inspection, and quality
control of each RICOR shock. Scott is the inventor of numerous patents
covering RICOR's unique design and is now focusing RICOR on conceiving,
developing, and implementing the next phase of advanced shock
technology.
Prior to RICOR Racing Shocks, Scott
specialized in automotive diagnostics. He began his career in
automotive engineering in 1988 and has spent the last 19 years
researching and deploying automotive technology, working with such
vehicles as Jaguar and Land Rover.
Scott has spent 23
years enjoying off-road sports, including dirt bike riding, sand rails,
and cutting the dunes with his beloved Land Rover.
