Extremely impressed; completely different bike |

It's a completely new bike. When I got on the brakes (light and hard braking tested), it dipped just a touch (nothing is going to stop that from happening) but nothing like the 3-4" dive it'd give me previously. As for bumps, well, I could tell I was hitting them, but the bike just skipped right over them, my fairing didn't even seem to notice. I caught myself aiming for bumps and potholes after a while, just to see - it ate everything I could throw at it without a complaint.
It's a completely different bike and it now holds it's weight as it should, even at low speeds. It's more controllable and handles like it's a hundred pounds lighter: it keeps it's center of gravity steadier and much more predictable. The CoG control wasn't something I was expecting from the Intiminators but it's worth the cost for that alone.
My 24 year old suspesion has been reborn! I'm completely satisfied with the Intiminators. Again, WOW!

FINALLY got a chance to install The Intiminators in my '06 Connie; I had previously installed the Sonic 1.1's to try to reduce the nose-dive during braking and firm up the ride, which they did. Used the recommended 5 wt fork oil set at the service manual height and re-adjusted pre-load so that the adjusters barely made contact when fully out. Before the road test, set adjusters for 1-3/4" sag (about 2 lines in). Today I went on a 180 mile trip to my hometown using mostly backroads that range from fairly smooth to barely paved...
The feel is very solid and planted even in very rough corners; the sharp jolts are gone, and the lateral movement in rough corners is gone; very confidence inspiring. The closest bike I can compare it to is my buddies Z1000, 'cept not nearly as harsh.
I feel like I'm really close to the kind of ride I expect from my Connie; responsive, smooth, not much brake dive; who says you can't have it all?
